Having mixed roughly growling guitars and an unstable faltering rhythm with melodious pop motives, binding a man's and female vocal in uniform accord, having supplied songs with delightful and mysterious lyrics, Pixies steels of one of the most influential alternative rock groups of the end 80.
Pixies weren't refined musicians. But it were the inventive, fanatical adherents of the rock music who has not simply turned inside out conventions, and merged together punk and indie, pop and the surf-fate, added concert solo that together with excentric incoherent lyrics has made a unique bouquet of this surprising music.
While the sense of texts about space travel, religions, sex, an incest, marihuana, serial murderers, vampires, werewolves, mutilations and pop culture wasn't so clear and accessible, actually music was rectilinear and simple. Importunate, short songs Pixies, their extreme dynamics and destruction of song structures of traditional pop music have made one of stones in the base of alternative fate of 90-s' years. From grang to it is smoothfaced-priest shade Pixies has accepted directly menacing sizes: it is simply impossible to imagine creativity Nirvana without the same shaky making a din guitar solo or without faltering dynamics Pixies. While Pixies were imposed by critics as the collective which has simply introduced indie-fate in a mainstream, actually, they have put a basis for known break of all alternative music in the beginning of 90-s'.
