The group was formed in Jeksonville, the State of Florida in 1964 the First structure included Ronald Wayne van Zanta (vocal), Gerri Rossingtona and Allen Collins (guitar), Burns's Bean (shock) and Larri Junstroma (bass). Changes in structure and the name («My Backyard», «One Percent Band») occurred, but as a whole skeleton of group remained invariable. The structure has received the constant name, when on one of performances guys were introduced as «Leonard Skinner Band»,So after a number of distortions they has turned in Lynyrd Skynyrd.
In 1971-72 the manager of group was Alan Uolden who has arranged with it record on Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Sheffield, the State of Alabama, record didn't leave (because of discrepancy of a format of songs of group under existing then audiocarriers), but the group has received experience of studio work and keyboard player William Norris (Bills) of Puaell has joined them. And the place of the bass player occupies Leon with Vilkson. In 1973 group El Cooper who has just based under the aegis of MCA Records label Sounds of The South selects. The group has let out the first album «Pronounced leh-nerd skin-nerd». For the period of record the place of the bass player is occupied with Ed King who then passes to a guitar (in an original way he is a guitarist, and a place of the bass player has occupied because Leon Vilkson has temporarily left group).
