Death Cab for Cutie - American indi-fate group which has been created in Bellingham, Washington in 1997. The group name was is taken from a satirical song which have executed The Bonzo Dog Band, the British comedy rock group, in an album of 1967 «Gorilla». The song also has been used in a striptease scene in film The Beatles «Magic mysterious travel».
Death Cab for Cutie began as Ben Gibbarda's solo project (Ben Gibbard) when it was the guitarist of group Pinwheel (it also registered solo as All-Time Quarterback). As Death Cab for Cutie, Gibbard has let out the cartridge named You Can Play These Songs With Chords which itself and was a producer. Formally at that time group Death Cab for Cutie was only Ben Gibbardom, but Chris Walla (which has continued to be a producer of all following albums of group) and Nicolas Harmer (Nicholas Harmer) (which earlier played with Gibbardom in group Shed which, after leaving of Gibbarda it became known as Eureka Farm) too played this album. It became marvelously successful, and Gibbard has decided to expand the project in high-grade group with Uolloj and Harmerom which has become by official members. He also has invited drummer Natana of the Buzzing (Nathan Good), and this structure has let out album Something About Airplanes in the summer of 1998.
